Judy John-Baptiste, founder and principal of BDS Ballet, is a passionate leader whose commitment to excellence has shaped the studio into a thriving hub of ballet dance education. With a wealth of experience in teaching, Judy brings a unique blend of discipline, creativity, and care to her work. She is deeply dedicated to nurturing each student’s potential—instilling technique, artistic expression, and confidence in dancers of all ages and abilities.
Known for her inclusive approach, Judy celebrates the diversity of her students and takes pride in their achievements, particularly their exam results and personal growth.
Initially Ms John-Baptiste trained at Trinity Laban and then continued to Middlesex university to complete a masters degree in Performance Art. Judy's formal training was completed at Surrey University with a Postgraduate Certificate of education specialising in dance teaching. She has been teaching for over 30 years.
Prior to the development of BDS Ballet, Judy John-Baptiste ran a vibrant dance studio in Camden for 17 years offering a wide range of dance classes of all levels and abilities to children and adults. There, she developed a series of nationally accredited dance qualifications accredited by LOCN.
